Norvik is a residential architecture studio in Stockholm. We design five to seven private houses a year, each one led by a founder from the first site visit to the day you move in. The rock, the trees and the low sun decide more about the house than any style.

Living room in Möja House with a limestone fireplace, an oiled oak floor and a pine ceiling, facing the sea
Gotland limestone
The hearth and the long bench are cut from Gotland limestone, honed so the low sun shows the fossils.
Heat-treated pine
Ceiling boards in the same heat-treated pine as the cladding outside, so the roof reads as one surface.
Oiled oak
Wide oiled oak boards run from the hearth to the glass. Worn spots are refreshed by hand.

“We came with a plot and a long list. Two years later we have a house that knows where the sun is at four in the afternoon in January.”
